Experience Divine Serenity at Thiruttani Murugan Temple

Perched atop a scenic hill just outside Chennai, the Thiruttani Murugan Temple is one of the six sacred abodes of Lord Murugan. Its white granite walls, towering gopuram, and panoramic views across the plains draw pilgrims and visitors alike seeking spiritual solace and stunning vistas.

Legend says the hill was once a battlefield where Lord Murugan defeated the demon Surapadman. The temple’s ancient sanctum, vibrant festivals—especially Skanda Shashti—and the 365-step climb make it both a devotional journey and a cultural experience, blending Tamil architecture with timeless myth.

Beyond its devotional appeal, the hilltop setting offers sunrise views that spread golden light over the surrounding paddy fields and villages—a photographer’s paradise and a tranquil retreat from city life.

Getting There

Thiruttani is about 90 km northwest of Chennai and 60 km east of Tirupati. Our comfortable caravans cover the journey in around 2 hours from Chennai via NH716, with optional stops for local tea shops at the base of the hill. We handle parking and climb logistics so you can focus on the divine experience.
